See what your photos reveal:
the hidden EXIF data.

EXIF Viewer reads the hidden EXIF in your shots — GPS on a map, every camera and phone, edit history — across thousands at once, and never changes a byte.

What is EXIF data?

EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is a block of metadata your camera or phone writes into every photo. It records the GPS coordinates where the shot was taken, the make and model of the device, the lens and exposure settings, and the date and time down to the second — often alongside the software used to edit the file. None of it shows up in the picture itself, yet it travels with the file wherever you send it. Post a photo online and you may be handing over your home address, your daily routine, or the exact phone in your pocket. An EXIF viewer lets you see precisely what a file discloses before you share it, so nothing leaves your hands by accident.

Do videos carry metadata too?

Yes. MP4 and MOV videos embed the same kind of metadata as photos — GPS location, the recording device, and creation timestamps. EXIF Viewer reads video files as well, so you can inspect what your clips reveal before uploading them; and when you want to remove metadata from video, EXIF Remover strips it clean the same way it does for photos.

Frequently asked questions

How do I view a photo's EXIF data?

Open EXIF Viewer and drop your photos. It reads the EXIF and shows a summary of the whole collection plus a per-photo breakdown — without uploading anything.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. EXIF Viewer reads your photos entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — they never leave your device. There is no upload, no account and no tracking.

Does EXIF Viewer modify my photos?

No. EXIF Viewer is read-only: it never writes to or alters your files. To remove metadata, use EXIF Remover.

Can EXIF Viewer show where a photo was taken?

Yes. If a photo carries GPS coordinates, EXIF Viewer plots them on a world map. The location is read locally and never sent anywhere — the point is to reveal what your file discloses before you share it.

What can EXIF Viewer show across a whole batch?

A collection-wide dashboard: the devices and software used, file formats, a timeline, GPS points on a map, and how many photos carry sensitive metadata.

Which file formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF, WebP, GIF, TIFF, and MP4 and MOV video.

How many photos can I inspect at once?

EXIF Viewer is built for large batches — thousands of photos in one go. The photo list is virtualized, so it stays responsive no matter how many you drop.
